NHS Cardiovascular Health Checks

Norfolk Chamber Working In Partnership with Timber Hill Health Centre

This NHS Health Check programme aims to help prevent heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease. Everyone between the ages of 40 and 74, residing in Norfolk, who has not already been diagnosed with one of these conditions or suffers from high blood pressure, is eligible to have a check to assess their risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and diabetes and will be given support and advice to help them reduce or manage that risk.

We can offer employers in Norfolk free CVD Health Checks for their employees, carried out on their premises* and includes:

  • Body Mass index measured (height and weight)
  • Cholesterol check (non-fasting)
  • Blood pressure
  • CVD risk calculated
  • Referral to GP by request
  • General CVD advice given

*If more than five employee appointments are booked these appointments will be held in the workplace, for less than five employee appointments they will be held at Timber Hill Health Centre.

Please do not contact Timberhill Clinic direct to arrange an appointment.

Testimonial from Mark Bartram from Bartram Mowers.
"We have recently put 12 people through the free CVD health checks. As a result of these voluntary checks a number of issues have been identified for some staff members which have resulted in referrals to GPs for further tests on areas such as blood pressure and cholesterol levels. We also have one member of staff who has already signed up to a scheme to help him stop smoking, something he had been unable to find help with through his GP. The general feeling amongst the staff that participated was that it was very worthwhile."
