Chamber Utility Auditing

Norfolk businesses are tackling the nightmare of soaring energy prices thanks to a free service which helps them negotiate the best possible deals, install more efficient equipment, and reduce wasted power by up to 20 per cent.

The Chamber Utilities™ service was set up by Norfolk Chamber to help its members to keep their gas, electricity, water, telecoms and bulk fuel bills as low as possible.

The Chamber Utilities™ service is delivered in partnership with Utility Auditing Ltd, a government-approved consultant to the Carbon Trust, which is working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Specialists from Utility Auditing visit members to carry out a free review of utility payments, and to advise on where savings can be made. If this involves switching supplier Utility Auditing can use its size and strength to negotiate the best possible deal.

Norfolk Chamber members which have benefited from a utilities audit include Bradwell-based Blue Sky Leisure, which operates three Zaks restaurants plus the Woodhill Park and Kelling Heath holiday parks in Norfolk.

Bryan Rawstron, operations manager of Blue Sky Leisure, said he was delighted by the support the firm had received in negotiating a new gas and electricity deal.

“When you’re busy with other things it’s quite a difficult and time-consuming job wading through all the offers from different suppliers,” said Mr Rawstron. “The energy markets are very volatile, and it’s frightening the way costs have gone up. Utility Auditing were very helpful and responsive, very easy to deal with, and they were able to make us a substantial saving on our current tariff.”
