Developing Norfolk’s Workforce of the Future.

Norfolk Chamber’s involvement in schools.

In a number of recent studies, Norfolk businesses have expressed concern that school leavers do not possess the “employability skills” needed in today’s workplace. Some may have the academic qualifications required but not the personal skills or understanding of the world of work needed to promote themselves. Many lack self-confidence, motivation and aspirations to get and keep the jobs they are capable of doing.

We at the Norfolk Chamber are working with the business community to help schools address these issues, by offering a wide range of involvement across all year groups within High Schools.

Futurewise

Schools and Norfolk Chamber recognise that an enterprising attutue instilled at an early age can help students through their High School life. Our programmes start with Futurewise specifically aimed at students in their first year at High School to help the cope with the changes and demands of progression they will encounter during their four years in High School. WorkWise

Probably the best-known Norfolk Chamber programme, WorkWise is provided to students approaching the end of their time in High School and builds on the foundations laid by Futurewise and the previous three years in High School. But the focus is on brifging the gap between the world of school and the world of work. Find out more…click here.

Young Chamber

Young Chamber is a true all-abilities, all-age groups programme in support of Enterprise Education which can involve all students within a school. It is run by the Young Chamber Council, drawn from the students and advised by the Norfolk Chamber, the school’s management team and the governers. Find out more…click here..
